Hazel Adina Johnson

 

Hazel Adina Johnson, age 78 years old of Brampton, Ontario, passed away peacefully & respectfully at home early in the morning on April 21, 2022. 

 

She was born on April 9, 1944 to Imogene and Burnett Davis in Middleton District, St. Andrew, Jamaica. Hazel was the 7th child of 9 children. She had 3 children born in Jamaica: Warren, Mellonie, and Edward prior to migrating to Canada in 1969. Seven years after coming to Canada, Simone was born.

 

Embracing a new life in Canada, Hazel completed a Diploma in Office Administration at George Brown College. Shortly, after her studies, she took at job at Canada Post Corporation, from which she happily retired at 55 years old.

 

Hazel was a dynamic and multi-talented woman, who had a flair for needlepoint work, crocheting , sewing, cooking, and a special love for plants and gardening. She was a lady that carried herself with class and elegance. She was known for her love of travelling, dancing and enjoying the finer things in life. Hazel was a mother to many and had great influence on children, teenagers and young adults. She could always relate with them. As a Christian, Hazel played an integral part in the church functionality and their activities. As a member she was always volunteering her time and lending a helping hand. 

 

The family would like to thank the dedicated healthcare professionals that provided amazing care to Hazel during the progression of her illness.

 

Hazel is predeceased by her parents,3 sisters, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Hazel is survived by her 4 siblings, 4 children, 13 grandchildren, countless other family & friends as well as, various lives that Hazel has touched throughout her life. She will be greatly missed

In Celebration of her colourful personality, the family asks that those attending wear light colours.
