Obituary of George Alexander Akers

George Alexander Akers of St Vincent & the Grenadines sadly passed away at the age of 79 from a chronic medical condition on Dec 4th, 2021.

George came to Canada  and completed a carpentry course to start his working career as a carpenter. He was dedicated to his family: wife Thora, children Arlene, Josette, Cheryl & George Jr. In his spare time he played cricket, played in a steal band and made music resulting in recording 2 albums. 

 

He was a leader & a kind person that helped anyone that needed it. George was asked by his sister to bring his 2 nephews Carlos & Dennis Smith to Canada once he was settled, to give them a chance at a foreign life, which he did.

George has 8 grandchildren (Joseph, Jonai, Raquel, Brandon,Chanae, Travis, Jerome & George jr) and 2 great grandchildren Noah and Nile.

Final homegoing services will take place in Troumaca, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, W.I.

FUNERAL HOME PROTOCOLS

Capacity limits have been removed for indoor and outdoor funeral services, including visitations.

Restrictions that will remain in place are:

Masks and/or face coverings are required. 

Physical distancing of 2 metres (6 ft.) between people.

COVID signage will be present at the entrance and around the facility so that guests can self-assess.

Contact tracing will continue.

Important Note:  Cemetery can restrict capacity limits as they deem necessary.  They are permitted to be stricter with numbers and we must comply.
