Obituary of Sayeedat Rene Shade Afolabi

Sayeedat (Saydie) Afolabi went to be with her Heavenly Father on August 28, 2022. 

Saydie was one of four siblings, and she was raised in Brampton, Ontario by Marcia (Merrita) Emanuel (mother) and Rasak (Kay) Afolabi (father).

Saydie was a constant ray of sunshine who consistently had a loving and positive attitude. She was a genuine, kind soul who welcomed everyone with open arms, a big smile, and a warm laugh. Saydie loved jazz and slow R&B music, spending time with her friends and family, and singing and dancing with her son, Royal Afolabi. 

Saydie will be missed by her mother and father, brothers; Audley Gardener and Hakeem Afolabi, sister-in-law Maggie Gardener, nieces; Monique DaCosta, Taliya Afolabi and Destiny Gardener, nephews; Audley and Orlando Gardener, her remaining and friends and family, and most specially, her son. Her spirit will always live on in Royal.

Saydie will continue to watch over those she loved, alongside her sister Lorraine (Mitsy) Gardener, her grandparents, and her uncle, Raymond Emanuel.
