Obituary of Cedric Edgerton Wade

Cedric Edgerton Wade

July 6, 1951 - February 11, 2023 

It is with tremendous sorrow that the family of Cedric Edgerton Wade announce his peaceful passing on February 11, 2023 at the Brantford General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, following a lengthy battle with cancer. Cedric stood as a strong pillar in his family and was well known and loved in the community. He will be sorrowfully missed by his wife of over 40 years, Nola, his mother Hyacinth, siblings; Dorette, Michael and Sylvester, children; Bernard, Troy, Michel, Monique, Lionel and Cherie, daughter in-law Monique “Paige” and son in-law Evan “Garvey” and his fifteen grandchildren; Jada, Izeiyah, Aunyae, Lailah, Chantae, Mickayla, Ashiyloh, Ruth-Lee, Adriauna, Aryelle, Alyanna, Tamara, Sarah, Kingston, and Jamere.

Known to family and friends as Cedric a.k.a Smokey a.k.a CJ. He was pre-deceased by his father Solomon and his youngest child Kareem. His quick wit and sense of humour are sadly missed by nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as so many of the people whose lives he touched and many close friends.

Our family wishes to extend sincerest gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Juravinski Cancer Hospital and Brantford General Hospital. Also to New City Church in Brantford and Kingdom Life Church in Mississauga for your daily visits and prayers and to Pastor Ashley Layne for re-committing Cedric to Christ through the Consecration Prayer.

He always held his head up high and made his family proud. His charm, kindness, strength, and stature will forever be cherished in our hearts.

Cedric where you are right now, I believe you are jamming to the music you loved so much, free from all your pain and suffering.

Cedric was a believer and I know his spirit lives on forever.
