Obituary of Irving Fitzroy Henry

Irving Fitzroy Henry Sr, a beloved father, grandfather and great great grandfather, and member of his community, passed away on July 5th, 2024, at the age of 100. Born on April 16, 1924, in Saint Andrew, Jamaica, Irving later made Toronto, ON, Canada, his home. Throughout his life, Irving had various professions, including working as a carpenter. He took pride in his work and always strived to make a positive impact on those he encountered. One of Irving’s favorite quotes was “No one should go to bed without saying their prayers or wake up without saying thank you lord” and favorite scripture was Psalms 8 which reflected his deep spiritual beliefs. He had a strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and believed that heaven awaited him after his passing. Irving’s proudest accomplishments were his role as a father and his dedication to being a loving grandfather and great grandfather. He cherished his family and was overjoyed by the many grandchildren and great-grandchildren he had. Known for his warm sense of humor, loving nature, and willingness to help others, Irving had a profound impact on the lives of those around him. He was always there for his friends, family, and loved ones, offering support and brightening their days with his infectious laughter. Irving’s love for his community was immeasurable. He dedicated his time to helping others and making his neighborhood a better place. Whether it was lending a hand or providing a shoulder to lean on, Irving’s generosity and kindness were unmatched. As we mourn the loss of Irving, we also celebrate a life well-lived. He will be remembered for his unwavering love, his joyful spirit, and his unwavering faith.
