Obituary of Linton Leopold Bryan

It is with great sadness that the family of Linton Bryan announce his death on Wednesday, July 17 at the age of 85. Linton was born on July 1, 1939 in Swain Spring (Red Hills), St. Andrew Parish, Jamaica and immigrated to Canada in 1973. He was a long-time resident of North York and Etobicoke.

A skilled tradesman, Linton worked for many years as a Class 1 mason on countless residential, commercial, and industrial projects throughout the Greater Toronto Area. Linton was a strong-willed, independent, and hard-working individual. He was known for his charisma,  friendliness, and outgoing nature. He cherished the time spent with family and friends and took great pride in caring for his home.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 51 years, Salome, as well as his six children Olivette (Rex), Gary (Kim), Steve (Patricia), Delroy, Peter (Joanna), and Wayne (Nordia) as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents William and Dorelda and his brother Sydney, Linton is survived by his sole aunt, 106-year-old Ellen Bryan-Watt, as well as his siblings Enid, Floreth, Fay, Paulette, Phyllis, Bradley, Hervin, Cecil, and Monica (Jem) along with several nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Lupus Canada https://www.lupuscanada.org/donate/ or Humber River Health Foundation. https://www.hrhfoundation.ca/your-impact/how-to-give/

A celebration of Linton’s life will be held on Friday, Aug. 2, 2024 at West Toronto Church of God, 1655 Wilson Ave., west of Jane Street, in North York, Ont. Details below.
