Obituary of Cordell Matilda Walters

Cordell passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2020, at the Etobicoke General Hospital in Toronto after a brief illness. She was born on September 18th, 1934 in the beautiful Island of Jamaica in the lush District of Chester, St. Ann to parents Adina Mills and Frank Lowe and was the second of four children. She was a cherished mother, dear grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many. Sis Cordell, as she was affectionately called, was an anointed evangelist who preached in several churches where many were saved. She had great wisdom! She was a discerner, a spiritual woman. She was a prayer warrior. As a Sunday school teacher at her local assembly, she not only talked the talk but walked the walk. She realized she had a passion for business at an early age and was encouraged to pursue her dream of becoming a business owner. She worked for others in several business capacities before receiving the revelation from the Lord saying that she should begin her venture. She loved doing business and knew that was what she wanted to do. Though it was not customary for a woman to own her own business at that time, she knew she would succeed with her passion and determination. By all accounts, she became a successful entrepreneur with an exceptional business ethic until her retirement. Sis Cordell will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, brother and sister, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She will forever be in our hearts! The family wishes to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for all your prayers, support and words of encouragement during our time of bereavement. We pray the Lord Jesus Christ reward you richly! Please be advised there is a 30 per cent capacity maximum permitted in the funeral home and a 50 person maximum at the cemetery. (Mandatory: Mask must be worn inside of the funeral home) For further information on directives from the Bereavement Authority of Ontario please click the link below: https://thebao.ca/covid-19-update-links/
