Obituary of Cynthia Veronica White

In Loving Memory

Cynthia Veronica White, 79, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2021 at William Osler Hospital, Etobicoke, Ontario. She was the loving  wife of Wesley E. White to whom she shared 49 years of marriage.

Cynthia was born in Kingston, Jamaica on September 6, 1941, she was the daughter of William and Celeste Belone (predeceased). Cynthia attended St. Andrews Technical High School in Jamaica, where she excelled in her studies, unfortunately due to illness, she was not able to complete.  She immigrated to Canada in 1969, where she worked as a Seamstress, later she pursued a career in the Hospitality Industry, where she stayed employed for 30 years, up until her retirement in December 2009, at the age of 68.

She was glad to call it quits from her dedicated years of work, for now she could put all her time and efforts into being the great grandmother (a.k.a granny) she was known to be.  The once strict and no-nonsense woman, now buckled at the mere smile or silly act of her grandchildren. Mom (granny) would often dance around the house whenever she was in a good mood, music being played, with a great beat would get her every time.  She was a great motivator to her children, grandchildren, always encouraging, always supporting in whatever we sought to do.  She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Cynthia is survived by her husband, Wesley White; children, Michelle Whittaker,Karen White & Astor White, her 10 grandchildren, Dominica Hannaford, Jamar Levy, Theadora Whittaker, Jevon Hosang, Allexia Whittaker, Malachi Whittaker, Khyra Hylton, Mya White, Melique White & Khaon Hylton; great grandchild, Jeanette Amani Hannaford (a.k.a Jett),also survived by her many nieces & nephews in the United States, United Kingdom  and Jamaica. She is predeceased by her parents, William and Celeste Belone; brother, Vivian Belone; sister, Dorothy Owens; great grandchild, Celeste Nora Hannaford.

Her funeral service will be held on Monday, May 10, 2021 at 11:00 am at the New Haven Funeral Centre, 7025 Legion Road, Mississauga, Ontario, L4T 1A8, the viewing will be held from 9:00 am to the time of service.  The interment at the Glenview Memorial Gardens, 7541 Hwy. #50, Woodbridge, Ontario L4L 1A5.
