Obituary of Violet "Marie" Rosemarie Miller

Surrounded by her family, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Violet Rosemarie “Marie” Miller on October 31, 2023.  Marie was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend who left us at the age of 75 after a brief illness. 

Marie was a loving mother of three children, Andrea “Jackie” (Richard) Gordon, Debbie (Daniel “Ray”) Ashley and Fitzroy “Anton” (Ramia) McKenzie who were the light of her life.  She was a mentor to her three siblings:  Gilbert “Gilly”, Lileth “Danny” and Merna “Munchie” who will miss her dearly.  Honoured aunt to Karen (Hector) Graham and Gilroy "Glen" Miller. She cherished her role as grandmother delighting in the joys and adventures shared with her many grandchildren:  Malcolm, Jenysis, Marcus, Drew, Dylan, Layla and Blake.

Marie’s kindness and empathy were felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.  She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel cared for and valued.  Her warm smile and open heart will forever be in our memories. 

Marie worked for over 25 years at Reeves/Foamex as a Material handler, demonstrating diligence and commitment.  In her retirement years she found solace in her daily walks with her friends and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.  A gifted cook, that brought joy and comfort to those lucky enough to experience her culinary creations. She did everything with a great sense of pride.

Many lives were touched by Marie and her legacy of compassion and generosity will continue to inspire us all. 

The viewing will be held in her honour on Friday November 17, 2023, at 4:00 pm-8:00 pm at New Haven Funeral Home and the homegoing service will be held on Saturday November 18, 2023,  at 10:00 am -12:00 pm at Kingdom Life Ministries (viewing 9:00 am-10:00 am).   After the service, the Interment will be at Glenview Memorial Gardens.
