Obituary of Dominic Anthony Baptiste
Dominic “Zip” Anthony Baptiste, age 76, of Brampton Ontario, peacefully passed away on November 6 2021 surrounded by loved ones, after suffering a debilitating stroke.
Dominic was born on November 7, 1944, to Susan Baptiste and George Noel in Marli, Sauteurs, St Patricks, Grenada. He migrated to Toronto in 1975 after serving as a Sargent for the Royal Grenadian Police Force.
After settling into a new life in Canada, he worked as a Black Smith for over 30 years, employed by Burndy Electric. His work in the electrical industry inspired his oldest son Dexter to pursue a career as an electrician. Dominic was dedicated to his work, family, and his lodge brothers.
Dominic was married to Jasmin Philbert on September 13th, 1975, until her passing on June 2nd 2001. He then married Marion Dubois in December of 2004 until the time he departed this earth. Dominic went on to have 4 children, 10 grandchildren, and 4 great grand children.
Domimic retired in 2004 and spent his days on the beaches in Grenada. While retired, Dominic had time to pursue his love of cooking and sewing.
Dominic was predeceased by his mother Susan, father George siblings Alfred and Agnes. He is survived by his children Dexter, Rose-Marie, Dennis, and Dione: Siblings Anne, Monica and Ronald. Services will be held at New Haven Funeral Home on November 27th at 11am.

PROTOCOLS AT THE FUNERAL HOME
Capacity limits have been removed for indoor and outdoor funeral services, including visitations.
Restrictions that will remain in place are:
Masks and/or face coverings are required.
Physical distancing of 2 metres (6 ft.) between people.
COVID signage will be present at the entrance and around the facility so that guests can self-assess.
Contact tracing will continue.
Important Note: Cemetery can restrict capacity limits as they deem necessary. They are permitted to be stricter with numbers and we must comply.
