Obituary of Victoria Geraldine Young

Victoria Geraldine Young was born on Young Street in Canaan, Tobago, W.I. and pursued a career as a  librarian at the University of Windsor in Ontario  Canada, she then went on to continue at the University of the West Indies -St. Augustine Campus and was the Head of the Tobago Children’s Library for many years. 

 

The Lord called Geraldine home on Friday, December 10, 2021 in Toronto Canada, at the age of 83.

 

Geraldine was the daughter of late Robert ‘Teacher Essence’ Young and the late Catherine Guy Young a.k.a ‘Miss Patience’.

 

She was a loving and devoted mother to Noreen Young and Dr. Jennifer Young.

 

Cherished sister to Jane “Albertine” Young Abrams, Robert Ezekiel Young, John Linston Young, late Dr. Hubert Young, late Edward Young, late Augusta Young, and the late Ernestine Theodora Young Scott a.k.a ‘Teacher Scott’.  Sister-in-law to Phyllis Young, Lucinda Young, Linda Young and Joyce Young.

 

Geraldine was an adored aunt, great-aunt, and great-great aunt. She will be greatly missed by her extended family in Tobago and other parts of the world, Moravian church members, and friends.

 

The family appreciates all of your prayers and kind gestures during this difficult time.

FUNERAL HOME PROTOCOLS

Capacity limits have been removed for indoor and outdoor funeral services, including visitations.

Restrictions that will remain in place are:

Masks and/or face coverings are required. 

Physical distancing of 2 metres (6 ft.) between people.

COVID signage will be present at the entrance and around the facility so that guests can self-assess.

Contact tracing will continue.

Important Note:  Cemetery can restrict capacity limits as they deem necessary.  They are permitted to be stricter with numbers and we must comply.
