Obituary of Elethia Leanora Stephens
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Elethia Leanora Stephens. She succumbed to her illness surrounded by her children on April 4th, 2022 in Mississauga at Credit Valley Hospital. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. She is survived by six children; Grace Wedderburn, Neva Dennis, Franklin Stephens, Iciol Reid, Clive Stephens and Eleston Stephens as well her two siblings sister Eugenie Samuels and brother Dennis Samuels. Alongside, fourteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren with many nieces and nephews. Elethia Stephens was born on December 11th, 1942 in Paul Island Westmorland, Jamaica to her parents Joslin Samuels & Doris Campbell. She was a loving wife to the late Dillion Alexander Stephens who passed away now thirty nine years ago. Elethia Stephens was a light that brightened any room, she was hardworking, faithful and committed to serving God. She worked from the moment she stepped foot in Canada, committed to bringing all of her children to the country, which she did one by one. She worked at the company MAGNA for twenty nine years, where she later retired at the age of sixty years old. She was a woman who always stood by her words and honoured her loved ones deeply.
Most of her time was spent with her family, friends, traveling, talking on the phone, and of course knitting, one of her favourite hobbies. She was always knitting a hat, scarf, or bed slippers whether it be for a grandchild, great grandchild, children or for a donation to her church and the Seniors Community Centre. We will miss her infectious smile and warm spirit, she will be deeply missed by many across the globe.
The family appreciates your words of kindest, condolences, flower and prayers during this challenging time, we love you all.
