Obituary of Mavis Maud Ayton

Mavis Maud Ayton (nee Bramwell)

Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend to many, passed away on Saturday January 14th, 2023 at the Etobicoke General Hospital. Mavis was born on February 1st 1926 in the Parish of Montego Bay, Jamaica. Mavis married Milford Ayton and raised five beautiful children. Mavis later migrated to Toronto, Ontario, Canada in the 1970’s after her husband passed away. She worked at the Upper Canada College, and then changed professions and worked at the Etobicoke General Hospital in the house-keeping department. She retired at the age of 65. Mavis was a strong woman of faith.  She loved to worship, read “Our Daily Bread” and attend Sunday services at Kipling Baptist Church. She made sure her Children and Grandchildren had a strong relationship with God.

During her retirement years, she helped raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mavis survived the deaths of her beloved children Valeria Thompson, Shelia Scott and Garth Ayton Sr.

The family is comforted knowing our beloved has reunited with her husband and children.

This is not a goodbye, but a see you later.
