Obituary of Olive May Cockett

Our matriarch, trail blazer, and prayer warrior, Olive May Cockett (nee Bartley) slept her way into glory on Thursday, March 16th, 2023, in Mississauga, Ontario. 

Olive, who lived 88 wonderfully blessed years, is now survived by her loving husband, Samuel, affectionately known as “Sweet Sam”, daughter, Hopelyn (Henry), sons, Dion (Natasha), Earl (Lisa), and Chris, grandchildren, Nathaniel, Alisha, T’Yonna, D’Nae, J’Niyah, Canon, and Christiann, and siblings, Sonny, Hyacinth, Roy, Yvonne, Dawn, Danny, Lorna, Elaine, Carol, Pat, and Daphne. Her siblings, Joyce and Darrel predeceased her in 2022.

Olive was confident that she was heaven-bound! So, while Olive, a devout and tenacious Christian, will be dearly missed by her family, including a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, her church community, and friends, heaven is rejoicing at the arrival of a general.
