Obituary of Maisie Khan

Maisie Khan, born Maisie Piggot on May 4th, 1954, in HopeVillage, East Bank Demerara River, Guyana.

Predeceased by; her Mother Joyce Piggot and Beloved grandparents that raised her. Survived by; her son Claude Anthony Khan, Granddaughter Charmaine Chantel Areneda, Grandson CJ William Shaughnessy-Khan and extended family and friends.

At the age of 17, she immigrated to Canada with aspirations of becoming a nurse. Although Maisie had her plans for her life, God had a greater calling for her and that was for her to be a mother. She loved and adored her son. Claude and knew from the start that she wanted to be the best mother she could be for him. Claude was her pride and joy and then later the joys of her life became her grandchildren, Charmaine and CJ, extended family, friends and most of all God.

A religious person, her strong faith sustained her throughout her life. She put God first in all she did, as "The Joy of the Lord was her strength" and that same Scripture along with 2 Timothy 1:7 "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of Power and of Love and of a sound mind." Were those same words from God, that give her strength during her final days and hours to hold on for her son and grandson to come to her hospital bed side. The two of them held each of her hands while prayers were said, giving her comfort and peace to take her last breath and follow our Lord and Saviour through those pearly gates into Paradise.

She was loved and will continue to be loved. She will forever be missed, but her memories will live on through each of the lives she has touched along the way.

Rest Peaceful in the arms of Our Saviour, Until We Meet Again.
