Obituary of Shamar Ezekial Powell-Flowers

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Shamar Powell on July 23,2023, at the age of 29 years old. Shamar will be forever missed by his mother, Charmaine Flowers, his brothers Duane Blake, Shane Lammie, Lamar Powell, Jahmar Powell, sister Olivia Elliston, and dog Rocco.

Shamar was a beloved best friend of several years to Taras Zenczuk, Alex Belerique and family, as well as Chris Powell, family and many more.

Shamar was a dedicated  high-rise construction engineer,  who enjoyed his career and looked forward to work each day. He was driven and always strived to improve his life and accomplished many goals in his 29 years. Shamar had the smile of an angel- a contagious smile that would light up a room, which most people gravitated towards. He was the life of every party at all family functions. If Shamar wasn’t present, it was felt amongst all, as his spirit is one that was truly gracious.

When Shamar wasn’t working, his time was spent going out, taking trips with friends and family and attending sporting events. He was a dare-devil who enjoyed travelling and got a thrill out of taking risks. He was a committed uncle, who spent most weekends at his niece and nephew’s sporting events.

Shamar is the epitome of “living life”. He somehow managed to balance his work and social life like no other and taught us all to do the same. Although he only lived 29 years, Shamar will forever live on in the hearts of the many people he impacted and will be remembered by his geneorsity, passion for sports, love for family, friends, his dog Rocco, love for his mom’s cooking, his desire to achieve the most out of life, his humble spirit, his silly grin, his strong work ethic, and his overall zest for life.

His bright smile and laughter will be forever engrained in our hearts and memories.
