Obituary of Elford James Mancaster George

Elford James Mancaster George passed away on October 2, 2023, in Toronto.  He was born on August 23, 1953, to Winifred and Lemuel George, in Antigua, West Indies.  He attended the Christ the King High School and St. Joseph Academy in St. John.  He emigrated to Canada in 1972 and was a long-time resident of Toronto. 

Elford studied accounting at George Brown College in Toronto and worked primarily in the accounting field.  He was an avid swimmer and also enjoyed cooking and sharing his culinary delights.  He had a great sense of humour and knew how to lighten an otherwise gloomy situation.

Elford was preceded in death by his parents, sister Brenda, brother Cameron, and half-brother Cunliffe.  He is survived by his wife, Maureen, his children Sherisse and Hakeem, his stepdaughter Marcia, his grandchildren Jaiden and Hope, his sister Monalie, and a host of relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at St. George on Yonge Anglican Church, 5350 Yonge Street, Toronto, Ontario  M2N 5R5.
