Obituary of Millicent Aloma Moore-Tucker

Millicent Moore -Tucker - ‘Millie’ - was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She passed away on February 27, 2024 at the age of 79.

Millie was born on June 25, 1944 to Clevi and Bernice Moore in the beautiful hills of Red Hills, Saint Andrew, Jamaica. She was the 5th of 14 children. Millie attended school in Red Hills, after which she entered the Jamaican workforce. She migrated from Jamaica to Toronto, Canada in 1982.

Millie was jovial, kindhearted and hard-working. She was fiercely independent. She was one of those caring persons, who sponsored a ‘child in Africa’. Millie enjoyed working at Nestlé Canada where she was a part of the production team. She stayed there for over 25 years until she went into retirement.

Millie loved to cook, spending time in the kitchen to create delicious meals, for not just her family, but friends as well. Her ‘speciality’ was her renowned escovitched fried fish. Millie was an avid gardener who loved her plants dearly and could always be found, tending to her plants, while singing her gospel songs, when at home. She had a great love for singing gospel songs. Millie was formerly married to Clement Tucker. Millie will be sadly missed by her three children Dean, Karen and Keisha, her grandchildren; Nickesha, Andre, Dane, Alex, Avery and Olivia, great grandchildren; Taeshaun, Nyla, Taija, Andreah, Andre, and many extended family and friends.

May her soul rest in Peace ◦
