Obituary of Antoinette Untukayatsha

On July 29th, 1958, in the DR of Congo,

Antoine Okenge and Henriette Dala welcomed

their first child named Antoinette.

Antoinette was a brilliant child who completed her

studies in DR Congo.

Antoinette’s interest in sewing started from a young

age as she watched and helped her mother sew.

She excelled in her career and education as

a seamstress and also as a businesswoman.

During her professional years, she participated in

many fashion shows which demonstrated her

talent in dressmaking. Antoinette’s love for travel

lead her on many business ventures from the early years

of her marriage. Her first business venture was selling

baby cribs and her last business venture was owning an African

clothing store called Antos Fashion and co -owner of Alowa Foods Supermarket . Throughout her years,

Antoinette had great support from her husband

Medard Tosomba with whom she was married to

for 41 years. Antoinette and her husband were blessed

with 6 children whom they raised as hard-working parents.

During her years in Canada, Antoinette and her husband

became proud grandparents to 7 grandchildren. Antoinette

was very family-oriented and showed love to all who

crossed paths with her. In 2019, Antoinette started having

serious health concerns which later led to her undergoing

kidney dialysis in 2021. During her final years,

Antoinette and her family remained hopeful about her

getting a kidney donor but 2023 brought some complications

in her health and she returned to the Lord on March 11th, 2024.
