Obituary of Daphne Peterkin

Daphne, a beautiful soul, passed away at home on April 18, 2024, surrounded by her grandkids and great-grandkids.  She battled for months with several health issues. Withstanding daily pain in her body she was still able to show love, kindness, laughter, and prayer for others.   She worried about her grandkid's lives and future rather than her own.

Daphne was born on March 24, 1936, in Montego Bay, Jamaica to parents Vincent and Clara Minto. Her father passed away when she was a young girl. That event instilled strength and determination in her until the end. Life was not easy for her in Jamaica, but still, she was able to show love and kindness.

Daphne (Mama) played a major part in many people's lives, by taking care of them as children.  She was someone you could never forget. After migrating to Canada, she worked in health care at SunnyBrook Hospital. She later sent for her daughter and granddaughter in Jamaica. Family was very important to her she cared for all her grandchildren as if they were her own. In everything she would put god first, she taught us how to have faith. Daphne leaves behind grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces, family members, and many friends. She will truly be missed by all.

This angel has received her wings.
